Bayern Munich are all set to host Chelsea in matchday 1 of the Champions League on Wednesday night, and the game is a highly anticipated one as it brings some of the best players on the planet face to face with each other.
For instance, Bayern Munich’s talisman, Harry Kane, is all set to come up against his Chelsea counterpart and compatriot, Cole Palmer.
Both teams will be relying on the performances of their respective English internationals, and their showings will go a long way in determining who comes up trumps in the game.
Speaking ahead of the big game, Kane said that he believes Palmer is a great player and is on his way to becoming world-class.
Chelsea are back in Europe’s premier club competition for the first time in two years, and couldn’t face a much tougher task in their opening game.
Bayern will be one of the favourites to win the competition, and it will be a great test to see how far this Chelsea team have come.

Harry Kane believes Cole Palmer is on his way to becoming a world-class player
Enzo Maresca made several changes against Brentford as the Blues were held to a 2-2 draw, but he defended his rotation policy in the build-up to the game.
That would mean a return to the starting line-up for Palmer, who’s struggled with a groin issue at the start of the season.
Palmer scored against Brentford on his return to action after missing the wins against Fulham and West Ham, and it will be interesting to see whether he can replicate his form in the Champions League.
There will be a number of top-class players on show on Wednesday night, including Kane, and the England captain was full of praise for Palmer.
“All I can say is he’s a great player,” he said as cited on X.com.
“I enjoy playing with Cole. Whenever you have a number ten who can find through balls, [make] good crosses, [have] good link-up play, drop deep and play longer balls, arrive in the box and score goals.
“I think he has all the attributes to be a world-class player.
“For me, world-class is when you do it over a period of time, consistently over five, 10 years. For sure, he’s on that path.”
Given the kind of quality that both Kane and Palmer possess, one should not be surprised if they produce the defining moment in the game on Wednesday night.
