Hansi Flick ‘unhappy’ with players after Barcelona’s 3-0 win: “My team played at 50%”

FC Barcelona pick up their first three points of the 2025-26 La Liga season after beating Mallorca 3-0 away from home. Goals from Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal sealed the win for the current La Liga champions.

Despite the win, FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was not happy with his team’s performance, especially since his team played against a Mallorca side that played with nine players for the majority of the match.

In the wild first half between Mallorca and Barcelona, the home team was reduced to nine players after two red cards were handed by the referee.

Mallorca’s Manu Morlanes received a second yellow in the 33rd minute, and Vedat Muriqi received a straight red in the 39th minute for having a high foot onto Joan Garcia’s face.

Hansi Flick on Barcelona’s Performance vs Mallorca

Flick was honest about his team’s performance in the second half, which included many chances for Barcelona. The Blaugrana couldn’t score until the last minute, with Yamal curling a shot into the top corner.

Hansi Flick: “I didn’t like the match. They are three important points. After going 0-2 and the two red cards, I think my team played at 50%… That can’t happen. I need to talk to the players about this.”

Flick gives his players the benefit of the doubt when ackowledging the whole second half was 11 vs nine. The German coach still demands concentration among his players and wants to see improvement.

Hansi Flick: “It’s not easy to stay focused with the opponent so defeated and knowing you have two more players, but we must correct things. The 3 points are very important.”

Barcelona returns to La Liga action next weekend when they take on Levante away from home, at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.
