When the New York Knicks entered the 2025-26 offseason, their No. 1 goal was to acquire more depth to complement their Eastern Conference Finals roster.
They did just that, signing former Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson and Philadelphia 76ers forward/center Guerschon Yabusele.
While the former Sixth Man of the Year, Clarkson, projects to be a key cog off the bench, Yabusele is also expected to be a major piece of New York’s front-court rotation, playing both power forward and center when needed.
Does Yabusele Fit With the Knicks?
When speaking to the media following an 80-69 France loss to Israel, Yabusele was asked about how he felt joining his new team.
“The Knicks are truly a great and magnificent club. I can tell Knicks fans that my DNA is very suitable for them. I bring passion, sometimes also anger, war, and aggression.” Said the Frenchman via eurohoops.net.
“I can promise them that I will help the team achieve as many victories as possible. There is a good team this year, which wants to reach the playoffs. I can definitely help with that task.”
Yabusele figures to be spelling Karl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson this season whenever either big man needs a breather. Second-year center Ariel Hukporti also figures to be a major depth piece.
With Robinson projected to be the starting center and Towns the starting power forward, the Knicks will be relying on Yabusele to bring that passion and energy off the bench, as he promised when he signed with New York.
