Guardians star Jose Ramirez matches two-time AL MVP in this stat

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is one of the best players in the entire major leagues, and he continues to prove it year in and year out, whether he truly gets recognition for it or not.

Since 2020, Ramirez has finished in the top 10 of AL MVP voting and is a five-time Silver Slugger throughout his 13-year MLB career.

And in the 2025 season, the stats for “J-Ram” haven’t changed any of this, with the seven-time All-Star smashing 23 home runs and batting in 61 runs, a continuation of his 39-homer, 118-RBI season he held last year.

But one stat in particular makes Ramirez stand out, and it’s a stat he shares with two-time and reigning American League MVP, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge.

Judge and Ramirez are the only two hitters in the American League that can say they possess both a batting average of over .300 and an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of over .900.

The Yankees outfielder won the 2024 AL MVP award, his second career awarding, after nearly claiming the first batting Triple Crown since 12 years earlier when Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera accomplished the feat.

Judge batted a .322 average, with 58 homers and 144 RBI, the third time in his career that he eclipsed the 50-homer mark in a season.

Ramirez finished fifth in the voting for the award behind Judge, Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr, then-Yankees outfielder Juan Soto, and Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

Should Ramirez continue his elite production for the rest of the season, he could finally get that AL MVP award that has eluded him for his entire career.
