The 2024 NFL season did not go according to play for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love. After an impressive first season as the team’s starter that ended with him receiving a huge contract during the offseason, Love was expected to break out and be an MVP candidate.
Unfortunately for the Packers, that wasn’t the case.
Love was injured in Week 1 of the 2024 season against the Philadelphia Eagles and was forced to miss time. As the season went on, he was never able to find his rhythm and ended up posting lower numbers than he had in 2023.
In 15 games, Love completed 63.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also picked up 83 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Those numbers resulted in leading Green Bay to an 11-6 regular season record and a Wild Card loss to the Eagles. It certainly wasn’t the season that the Packers and Love were hoping to have.
That being said, Love has received a monstrous prediction for 2025.
Kyle Soppe of Pro Football Network believes that Love will be an MVP finalist next season.
“Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff, and Josh Allen were the QBs with consistently strong running back play behind a top-10 offensive line ranking per our metrics – they were all invited to the MVP honors ceremony, a fate that could well await Love in 12 short months.”
Needless to say, an MVP-caliber season from Love would result in Green Bay making the leap into Super Bowl contention. He’s more than capable of making this prediction become a reality from a talent perspective. In fact, Love has the talent to become a top-three quarterback by next season.
However, in order for him to reach that level, Love needs to fine-tune some of his skills. He could also use a true No. 1 weapon, which the Packers are widely expected to consider this offseason.
It will be interesting to see what Love can do in his third year as the starter in Green Bay. Hopefully, he’s able to take a big leap forward and start showing more of the superstar talent that he possesses.
