Gilbert Arenas is back at it again.
The man who calls himself “No Chill Gil” typically finds ways to live up to the moniker, and he did so again in the wake of one of the biggest scandals to rock the NBA.
Since retiring from the game, Arenas has established a reputation as a social media troll, a role that he’s also taken into more formal media spheres. That took a new level hours after news of the scandal broke, with Arenas taking a playful angle toward a very serious topic.
Here’s how Arenas turned to trolling in the face of controversy.

Rumors of Arenas “snitching” came from the man himself.
Throughout his 20-plus years in the spotlight, Arenas’ playful personality has been no secret. In the wake of the news, Arenas took to Instagram to post a picture of himself with a brown bag that read “Informant Lunch,” accompanied by a caption that read, “Got that Informant Lunch special this morning.”
Later, he carried the lunch bag onto the set of his eponymous show, playfully addressing the situation.

The viral moment builds on Arenas’ now-viral quote that came two months prior, when he was implicated in a federal case that dealt with similar charges stemming from an illegal gambling ring.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with snitching, man,” Arenas said.”It ain’t nothing wrong with just telling, man. Ain’t nothing wrong with telling, man.”
