Eli Manning knows how to win big games.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP from the New York Giants did it in a different sport on Wednesday. He took part in the celebrity scramble ahead of the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black on Long Island.
And Manning, with his partner Colin Jost (comedian), led the Team USA charge to celebrity victory.
Manning and Jost put up 7.5 points in their match against Toni Kukoc and Brooklyn Beckham.
Team USA also got wins from two other pairings.
Noah Kahan and Kane Brown put up 6.5 points to beat Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps.
And Miranda Lambert paired with Michael Strahan to edge Catherine Zeta-Jones and Pau Gasol, 6-5.
The only Team Europe win came from Teemu Selanne and Jose Andres, who edged John McEnroe and Bobby Flay, 6-5.
The final score: Team USA 25, Team Europe 19.
The United States will be hoping they can carry that momentum into the action that starts Friday. There’s a Ryder Cup to win back.
The U.S. is considered the team betting favorite for the event. Home teams are usually thought to be at an advantage for the Ryder Cup.
But even as an underdog, Manning proved he could win in the Super Bowl. So Team USA should feel good about its chances after the tone-setting victory provided by Eli.
