Giants’ Jung Hoo Lee made an impossible catch with his knees

It’s impossible to stop watching.

San Francisco Giants centerfielder Jung Hoo Lee made a catch unlike any we’ve ever seen before.

He caught a deep fly ball to right center, triples alley in San Francisco, with his knees. Like, between his knees. Like, the baseball evaded his glove and he squeezed his knees together to prevent the ball from hitting the ground.

Yandy Diaz, the Tampa Bay Rays hitter, had to be feeling pretty unlucky at the end of this one.

The game was tied 0-0 at the time, so it was a crucial catch for the Giants on Sunday.

Lee explained the moment after the game, with quotes via NBC Sports Bay Area.

“The wind was pretty heavy and the ball was reaching out a lot, so I went for the slide,” Lee said. “I did catch it, but it felt like it was dropping down, going under my body starting from the chest. It was a funny catch for sure. As soon as I felt the ball dropping down my body, I felt like I had to squeeze, and in the end, I squeezed it with my calves.”

Local broadcaster Duane Kuiper called it the “catch of the decade.”

The catch came in a victory, which made it all the sweeter.

The Giants have struggled of late, but maybe a play like this is a sign that their luck is finally turning around.
