The San Francisco Giants are currently one game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League West with a 40-29 record.
The Giants could use a power upgrade in the middle of the lineup, as the club ranks 24th in Major League Baseball in slugging percentage.
An upgrade could come from a division rival.
If the Arizona Diamondbacks become sellers, first baseman Josh Naylor would be a great fit for the Giants.
“The fact that he is a left-handed hitter that has historically done well at Oracle Park is another plus,” wrote Sports Illustrated’s Dylan Sanders.
San Francisco designated first baseman Lamonte Wade Jr. for assignment and then traded him to the Los Angeles Angels due to offensive struggles through 50 games, a problem Naylor could fix if Arizona makes him available.

Naylor, 27, was a first-time All-Star last season. He hit 31 home runs and drove in 108 runs with the Cleveland Guardians.
This season, Naylor has eight home runs and 45 RBI while slashing .302/.357/.468 in 66 games.
The Giants have been playing Dominic Smith at first base since trading Wade. He has one home run with seven RBI while slashing .320/.345/.480 in eight games with the club.
Naylor isn’t the greatest defender, but his bat would provide a massive boost to a lineup that ranks in the bottom-third of most offensive categories.
