Giannis Antetokounmpo has blunt message for Bucks’ Game 3 against Indiana Pacers

The Milwaukee Bucks head back to Fiserv Forum down 2-0 against the Indiana Pacers.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was very blunt about the urgency to bounce back. Antetokounmpo had 34 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists Tuesday night.

“It’s life or death,” Antetokounmpo said in the postgame interview. “That’s how it is for me. I know the deal, I’ve been here before.”

Turnovers, late starts, and offensive struggles have led Milwaukee to its grim start to the series. The Bucks now face a possible 3-0 series deficit, a fate no team has escaped in league history. They have overcome this before, but this time is more of a challenge. They will need more star performances from Damian Lillard and Kyle Kuzma, who were decent in Game 2 but combined for just 26 points. Antetokounmpo says a collaborative effort is needed to win this series.

“I feel like the mindset and approach that I have, being around in the locker, being around in the plane, being around in practice, watching film together, talking as a team, we know the deal,” Antetokounmpo said. “Hopefully it can rub off on everybody and we can go out there and compete. My mindset is Game 3 right now, I know the [expletive] deal, man. I know what I gotta do.”

The Bucks are back home for Game 3 on Friday night.
