Gianluigi Donnarumma ‘decides new club’ as PSG contract talks end

Gianluigi Donnarumma joined PSG from AC Milan back in 2021 in what was viewed as a long-term investment in one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe.

The Italy international played a key part in PSG’s historic 2024/2025 campaign as Luis Enrique side won a quadruple in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions and a first-ever UEFA Champions League).

His performance in the UCL semifinal second leg against Arsenal were a season highlight and a reminder why a world-leading No.1

However, four years since his arrival in Paris, the relationship between player and club seems to be coming to an end, with transfer expert Nicolo Schira claiming he’s rejected their latest contract offer.

The 26 year old’s contract runs until 2026, but the club are ready to sell him for around €30m [$35m] this summer, to avoid a free transfer exit.

PSG have also secured Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier for which could mark the end of Donnarumma’s tenure.

Donnarumma wants to join ManUnited from PSG

Sources in England suggest the goalkeeper has now identified Manchester United as his preferred destination.

According to multiple reports, Chelsea and Inter Milan are also monitoring the situation, but talkSPORT’s Anil Kandola claims Donnarumma is eyeing Old Trafford.

According an additional update from StrettyNews, Ruben Amorim wants Donnarumma, and the club have opened formal talks with his representatives.

United could offer the towering keeper a contract until the 2029/30 season, but his wage demand could be a stumbling block, as the Red Devils hierarchy look to cut costs.

Donnarumma currently earns an estimated €12.73m [$14.8m] annually [via Capology], but United could offer less to protect their wage structure.
