The Barclays Center will play host to a Gervonta Davis fight for the first time since 2022 as “Tank” defends the WBA lightweight title on March 1 against Lamont Roach. The fight airs on Prime Video PPV.
Davis (30-0) was the “regular” champion before being promoted to full-time WBA champion. The Baltimore native has only fought once since beating Ryan Garcia in 2023 due to legal issues, but, regardless of status, he always gives it his all on fight night.
“Tank” comes into this fight winning his last four fights via knockout, and he looks to add Roach to his list of opponents to be beaten via the power punch.
“I’m going to do me regardless. I think about what I’ve been through and what I’ve lost and go in there and get my man. It’s going to get bad. He’s been talking too much, so we’ll see Saturday night. You know what I come to do and why I’m here. I don’t want to say too much. I’ll keep it polite. I know there will be fireworks,” Davis said.

A 2013 Golden Gloves winner, Roach (25-1-1) is the current WBA super featherweight champion. The 29-year-old has 10 wins via knockout and moves in weight for an opportunity at more gold.
Roach went 0-2 against Davis at the amateur level. Now established, Roach looks to crack the Davis code.
“I don’t care about outside critics. I know what I can do in the ring, and that’s the only thing that matters, honestly, that I go out and give it my all. Nine times out of 10, when I do that, I’ll be victorious,” Roach said.
