Football pundit Gary Neville has shared his verdict on Chelsea after the Blues thrashed West Ham to return to form in the Premier League on Friday night.
Despite being critical of Chelsea in the past, Neville had some positive things to say about Enzo Maresca’s team on his podcast after they trounced the Hammers at the London Stadium.
Neville’s change of heart about Chelsea might be down to the fact that the Blues are coming off the back of an impressive last season, where they qualified for the Champions League and won the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Going into the new Premier League season, the team flattered to deceive on the opening weekend as they stumbled to a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
However, it was back to regular programming on Friday night as they crushed a listless-looking West Ham side.
So much so that even Neville couldn’t help but praise Chelsea.

What Neville said about Chelsea’s performance against West Ham
“It’s a good away win for Chelsea. It will just get them going. Is it realistic that they can win the Premier League title? I don’t think so.”
“But I think if you’re getting into the Champions League places and in around there a couple of seasons on the bounce, then you know, you certainly started to move forward. And there’s a long way to go, but it was a game that you would expect them to win as well. Like West Ham are really struggling.”
Though Neville has ruled out Chelsea winning the league this season, the team has what it takes to prove him wrong and challenge for the title.
