Gary Neville hailed Chelsea star Cole Palmer for his superb performance against Liverpool as the Blues sealed a 3-1 victory over the newly-crowned Premier League champions.
Chelsea secured a crucial win over the Reds at Stamford Bridge on May 4 to keep their hopes of playing in next season’s UEFA Champions League alive.
Palmer looked back to his talismanic best against Arne Slot’s side, as he was heavily involved throughout the game, and scored the third goal from the penalty spot for the hosts.
After the game, Neville was quick to heap praise on the Chelsea attacker for his performance. Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: “Some players are just a joy when you watch them. Palmer is one of them,” he said.
While commentating on the game, the former Manchester United defender also pointed out how Palmer used his change of pace to good effect against Liverpool.
“Palmer’s change of pace has been a real feature today. He has been the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile.”

Palmer back on track for Chelsea’s season run-in
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder went into the game on a four-month goal drought and was in desperate need of something to spark his low confidence.
However, he was heavily involved in most things that Chelsea created right from the word go and played a part in the opening goal as well.
Now his goal drought has ended, Enzo Maresca will be hoping the floodgates open for him in terms of goals, as hedges onto 15 in league action.
Chelsea have another massive game coming up in the Premier League against Newcastle United on May 11, the result of which will go a long way to determine which one of the two teams secures Champions League football next season.
