Four-time NBA All-Star got first ring in 2025 Summer League, but not in the way you’d expect

The Charlotte Hornets have won very little in their relatively short time in the NBA.

They haven’t made the playoffs since 2016, and they’ve never made it to even a conference finals.

It may be just a Summer League title to many, but it was the first of any kind of title the Hornets earned in their team’s history.

Lost in the moment of this title was that a Hornets legend finally got a ring.

What Hornets legend won a ring at the 2025 Summer League?

Every Charlotte fan is familiar with the name Kemba Walker.

He retired from the NBA and hasn’t been with the Hornets since the 2018-19 NBA season.

That changed after he retired, because he signed a deal with Charlotte to become a player enhancement coach.

He was also on their staff as an assistant for this year’s Summer League team.

They went on to go undefeated, with a 6-0 record in Las Vegas, en route to winning this year’s Summer League title.

It’s not as significant as winning a real NBA championship, but it’s cool to see Walker was able to be a part of a team that did something Charlotte fans haven’t even sniffed in their franchise’s existence, which is winning any sort of title.
