Former Premier League striker advises Chelsea star to find a new club

In amongst the influx of new players coming through the door at Chelsea this summer, there has also been a mass exodus at Stamford Bridge, with a host of players leaving the club.

The Blues have raised close to ($211m) in sales this summer, and that number could be set to go up even further as former Premier League striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has advised Ben Chilwell to find a new club during the ongoing transfer window.

The Englishman has struggled for game time at Chelsea after falling down the pecking order to Marc Cucurella in recent seasons.

Chilwell spent the last season on loan at Crystal Palace but struggled to nail down a spot in the starting eleven.

Now that the former Leicester City man has returned to Chelsea, Agbonlahor believes that he should emulate Kyle Walker and move to a smaller club where he will be guaranteed regular first-team football.

The player should follow Agbonlahor’s advice if he wants to have any chance of representing England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Gabriel Agbonlahor’s transfer advice to Ben Chilwell

Gabrield Agbonlahor believes that Ben Chilwell is one of the players who desperately needs to find a new club this summer.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT “I just think he needs to find a club where he’s going to be number one. Crystal Palace was never going to work. [Tyrick] Mitchell is a top left-back.

“He needs to maybe go down to a lower club in the Premier League. If that’s a Leeds, if it’s a Sunderland, if it’s a Burnley, just play week in, week out. We’ve seen Kyle Walker and all he’s won in the game, and he’s gone to Burnley…

“I just want to see Chilwell enjoy his football. Will his wages be a problem with a loan to a Premier League club? But he’s got no future at Chelsea, it’s obvious to see.”

Agbonlahor’s advice to Chilwell does make sense as the play desperately needs to get back to playing first-team football regularly.

Chilwell is an experienced player who could add a lot of value to a team at the lower end of the Premier League table.
