Chelsea have had a tough time getting rid of Raheem Sterling in the past couple of seasons.
Last season, too, the Blues tried their best to offload the winger, but could only manage to loan him to Arsenal, where he had a disappointing season.
Therefore, it came as no surprise that the Gunners did not want to sign the winger permanently.
One of the main reasons why the Blues are struggling to get rid of the player is the massive amount of wages he earns at the club.
The 30-year-old is one of Chelsea’s highest-earning players, and finding a club that will match his wage demands is proving to be a challenge for Enzo Maresca’s team.
In this situation, former Premier League striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has suggested a possible solution for Chelsea.

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that a loan deal is the best option for Raheem Sterling
As much as Chelsea will want to offload Sterling permanently, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks the Blues will have to make do with sanctioning another loan deal for the winger.
Speaking about Sterling potentially joining another Premier League side on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “If you can get the right wages that you’re paying towards it from Chelsea, then I see it as a no-brainer because I don’t think anyone’s going to buy him.
“Two years left on his contract on that big salary, so I think a loan deal for a lot of these players is the only way.”
Agbonlahor might have a case, as Sterling’s wages and the length of his contract might be stopping anyone from signing him permanently.
More importantly, the longer it takes Sterling to find a potential suitor, the more likely a loan deal becomes for the player, if Chelsea really want to get him off their books.
