The Premier League clubs are all set to adopt a split summer transfer window from the upcoming season. The initial window will be in between June 1 to June 10 due to the new Club World Cup format.
Recently, in the Football Insider’s podcast, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness shared that he expects Arsenal to land a reliable goalscorer in the initial part of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are desperately looking to bring in a new striker this summer. They have endured a tough 2024/25 campaign with both their forwards, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, sidelined with injuries.
Injuries have been a constant problem for the Gunners. The problems have increased so much that Mikel Arteta has been forced to use Mikel Merino as a makeshift forward. Moreover, the Spain international has done reasonably well despite playing out of position.
Wyness in the podcast suggested that he expects the Gunners to move early in the market to sign a big-name striker. He feels moving early will help Arsenal to fend off the competition.
“I expect Arsenal to move quickly in this new window to sort their striker situation,” Wyness reasoned. “That would help them head off any competition. Clubs who have got key positions to fill, like Arsenal, will strike early,” he added.

How will the 2025/26 summer transfer window look like?
The 2025 summer transfer window will initially open between June 1 to June 10. It will then remain close for five days before reopening on June 16 and run till September 1.
For the first time, this summer we will witness an expanded form of the Club World Cup involving 32 teams. Manchester City and Chelsea are the two Premier League teams featuring in the tournament from June 15 in the United States.
The Premier League clubs can only have a 12-week transfer window in the summer. Therefore, the five-day break allows the transfer window to run till September 1.

Arsenal linked with multiple strikers
The Gunners are desperately looking to bring in a new striker to solve their goalscoring issues. The North London outfit have already appointed Andrea Berta as their new sporting director to facilitate moves during the summer.
Arsenal have been in the title race for the last three seasons, especially due to their formidable roster. But now adding a marquee striker will increase their chances of winning the league exponentially.
They are monitoring multiple strikers this summer, which includes Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. Wolves star Matheus Cunha is another player linked with the club and can play a central role upfront.
