Former MVP candidate shows desire in returning to Kings

The Kings have been a team that’s had relevance this offseason despite missing out on the playoffs.

After trading away their star guard De’Aaron Fox, they are in search of a new franchise guard to replace him.

This player isn’t the star he used to be, but he is a guard who showed a desire to return to Sacramento recently.

What NBA player made a statement about wanting to return to the Kings?

Saturday night on X, Isaiah Thomas posted on his account, “That’s crazy…I can always double back and end my career there”

This was in response to a post on X that said the Kings are the only NBA team in the 21st century to have three all-NBA point guards (Fox, Haliburton, Thomas).

Sacramento has a special place in IT’s heart, as they drafted him in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Thomas was Mr. Irrelevant in that draft, selected with the very last pick in the second round.

He started to make a name for himself with the Kings but ended up being traded to the Suns, and then to the Celtics, where he was an MVP candidate and two-time all-star.

Unfortunately, Thomas suffered various injuries that slowed down his career, as he bounced from team to team ever since 2018.

Thomas signed some 10-day contracts at the end of the 2023-24 season but has been out of the NBA since.

He still wants to make a return, and it seems that he would love to return and end his career with the team that took a chance on him when drafted him 14 years ago.
