Former Man Utd striker sends strong message as Bryan Mbeumo deal nears completion

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has warned the club’s hierarchy about the future of Amad Diallo amidst an overhaul in the Red Devils attack this summer.

Ruben Amorim is reportedly close to securing the club’s second deal of the summer transfer window with Bryan Mbeumo’s announcement almost complete.

United have already signed Brazil international Matheus Cunha, and Amorim is eager to bring in Mbeumo to further strengthen his attack, and more additions could signal a change in the role of more established United players.

What did Louis Saha say about Amad’s role at Man United?

Saha spoke to Express Sport and sent an urgent plea to the club about Amad’s future in Manchester. The former striker said, “If there are one or two players who should not leave, it is him and Bruno Fernandes.”

Amad prefers to play in an attacking role on the right-hand side, which is where Mbeumo has excelled during his time at Brentford.

Bringing Mbeumo in might send Amad to play as a right-wing back in a move the Ivory Coast international is unlikely to be happy with.

Saha claimed keep Amad happy should be a priority and moving him into a new spot may cause disruption to his strong progress.

He’s the kind of player who does not care where he plays. He said it himself; he will play as a left-back or centre-back- he will just play.”

Saha urged the club not to sell Amad, but rather to appease the young attacker, after he scored some crucial goals for the club last season, before suffering an injury that kept him out for several months.

There are multiple players, including Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho, who are all linked with moves away from the club. Their sales could bring in a new forward, with Amorim keen to find a proven goal scorer to supplement his misfiring front line.
