Former Cowboys great reacts to Parsons’ trade as team welcomes Kenny Clark

Cowboy fans and current and former players continue to react to the Micah Parsons trade, and most of the reactions have been negative, including from former Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware.

Ware just posted on X a video of him slapping his forehead at the news of the trade. Ware can relate. He ended up leaving Dallas also for the Denver Broncos after spending many years with the team.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers officially welcomed Parsons to Wisconsin with the post: MICAH welcome to Green Bay. Simple and to the point.

The Cowboys also welcomed Kenny Clark to the team.

Clark is no slouch himself.

According to the Cowboys’ official website, Clark is a three-time Pro Bowler, but he plays a position of need – defensive tackle. Clark is considered a true nose tackle and will likely provide some much-needed depth in the middle of the defense, playing next to Osa Odighizuwa.

According to the team, he’s only missed eight games in his career and hasn’t missed a game in three seasons. You wonder if that was a little dig at Parsons. One of the things that apparently got under Jones’ skin was Parsons’ injuries.

Clark has three years left on his contract and makes $23 million a year, significantly less than what they would have had to pay Parsons.

For his career, Clark has 35 sacks, but had only one last year, which was the fewest in his career. The Cowboys definitely needed help on the defensive end, but is Clark the answer?

He is much older than Parsons (he’s 30), and his production is down, although he is much healthier than Parsons has been these last few years. This Cowboys defense struggled against the run last year with Parsons. Don’t look for it to be much better now that he is gone.
