Former Chelsea player reveals one thing he ‘loves about’ star linked with summer exit

Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy has revealed the one thing he loves about Noni Madueke after the latter scored the second goal in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Djurgarden in the semifinal of the UEFA Conference League.

The Englishman has been linked with a summer move away from Stamford Bridge, and rumours were going around that he may not play for the Blues again.

Therefore, it came as a surprise that Enzo Maresca named him in the starting eleven to take on the Swedish side on Thursday night.

And the winger grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he looked threatening right from the off before scoring the second goal that set Chelsea on their way to a commanding win in the first leg of the semi-final.

Madueke was joined by Jadon Sancho and Nicolas Jackson, who also found the back of the net for the Blues.

More importantly, the result saw Chelsea put one foot in the final of the UEFA Conference League ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge next Thursday.

What Cundy said about Madueke after the game?

Even though he only played the first half, Chelsea winger Noni Madueke earned rave reviews from Jason Cundy for his performance versus Djurgarden.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official app, Cundy said, “All of a sudden, Noni Madueke appears from nowhere, left foot, and guides it towards that near post. Just slots it home comfortably. The goalkeeper has got no chance. Lovely finish, nice and composed. That’s the second goal we deserve. He’s played well, Noni. He’s had a big involvement in this game. He’s looked threatening.”

“He’s threatened on that right-hand side. He’s direct. The one thing I love about Noni is he’s direct, and he’ll take you on. He’s quick. He’s strong. He’s a physical presence. When he goes past you, he stays past you.”

Despite being linked with a move away from the club, Madueke is quietly enjoying a strong season for Chelsea.

He has racked up 11 goals and 5 assists in 36 games across all competitions so far this season, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the youngster.
