Former All-Star urgesTimberwolves to trade to Joel Embiid

Are the Minnesota Timberwolves in the market to acquire Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid?

Former Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce believes they should be. During a recent episode of ‘KG Certified with Kevin Garnett, Pierce suggested the Timberwolves should go all-in on acquiring the former MVP.

“Embiid to Minnesota! All of them! Whoever! Take whoever,” Pierce exclaimed.

He added, “Take all of that. You’re trying to open up because they got the No. 3 pick. They’re keeping this pick because we’re rebuilding, but we got some assets over here.”

Garnett would chime in name, dropping Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Rudy Gobert as potential players.

Pierce’s comments follow the Timberwolves’ elimination by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 76ers have built their roster to help Embiid compete at the top of the Eastern Conference; however, his time in Philadelphia has been marred by postseason disappointment and injury concerns, as he only appeared in 19 games for the 76ers last season due to ongoing nagging knee injuries.

Pairing Embiid with Anthony Edwards could create a dominant one-two needed to get over the hump in a loaded Western Conference. The Timberwolves have been bounced in the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year.

Still, there is no indication that the 76ers plan to trade Embiid. Acquiring a player of his caliber comes with a significant risk, and Embiid’s health remains a primary concern.

When healthy, it’s clear that Embiid is still one of the best players in the league,
