The Golden State Warriors start their six-game road trip on Saturday when they travel to State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks.
Golden State enters Saturday’s game amid a two-game winning streak and they have won nine of their last 10 games.
Of course, the Warriors have bene one of the hottest teams in the NBA since acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline and they will look to keep things rolling against a Hawks team that has won six of their last 10 contests.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, they will be without their superstar point guard Stephen Curry on Saturday as he is sidelined with a pelvic contusion.
Curry suffered the injury in Thursday’s victory over the Toronto Raptors after he took a hard and scary fall in the third quarter.
This is a massive blow for the Warriors but they are hopeful that he can return on Tuesday against the Miami Heat after he is reevaluated on Monday.
With Curry out, Buddy Hield, Gary Payton II and Brandin Podziemski should see an increase in minutes and Golden State will rely on Butler and Draymond Green to carry them while Curry is sidelined.
Golden State has also listed Payton II as questionable with a knee injury that caused him to miss Thursday’s victory over the Raptors.
On the other side, the Hawks may also be without their star point guard as they have listed Trae Young as probable with an Achilles injury.
Young is expected to suit up for Saturday’s game barring a setback before tipoff and Atlanta will need him if they want to take down the red-hot Warriors.
Atlanta has also listed Caris LeVert as probable with a knee injury and they have ruled out Kobe Bufkin, Jalen Johnson, Larry Nance Jr., Clint Capela and Keaton Wallace for Saturday’s game.
Fans can catch Saturday’s matchup between the Warriors and Hawks at 7:00 p.m. EST on NBA TV.
