With Spain defeating Argentina in the 1-0 final, it still remains only seven countries to have ever won the men’s FIFA World Cup. 

Ferran Torres’ extra-time goal clinched the 2026 title for Spain over Lionel Messi’s Argentina, which gave La Roja its second World Cup trophy in its history.
