FC Barcelona unveils 25/26 away kit in tribute to Basketball legend

FC Barcelona has launched its 2025/26 new away kit in partnership with the Kobe Bryant brand under Nike and it’s a kit that replaces the traditional Nike Swoosh with the “Kobe Sheath” logo.

The partnership will run for three seasons, until 2027/28.

According to the club, the brand partnership is “born out of a shared culture of sporting excellence,” connecting Kobe Bryant’s mentality with Barça’s football philosophy.

“The relationship between Barça and Kobe Bryant stretches back a long way,” the statement reads.

“The NBA star was a supporter of the Club, and on many occasions, he could be found with Club members and the first team players, both in his visits to Barcelona and during the squad’s trips to the US.”

 

The initiative celebrates Bryant’s self-improvement and his long time admiration for FC Barcelona’s style of play.

The club also believes the collaboration will extend the ‘Mamba Mentality’ to new generations of athletes and honour his legacy in global sport.

The launch was accompanied by a promo video called “Mamba Rondo”, inspired by the team’s signature rondo drill with players like Alejandro Balde, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Alexia Putellas, Ewa Pajor, Claudia Pina, Patri Guijarro and Salma Paralluelo featuring in the video.

The rondo is a key aspect of Barcelona’s training philosophy and is indicative of their style of play based on possession.

It develops mental sharpness and quick decision making for everyone involved.

It represents the never ending quest for perfection that is the essence of the concept of Mamba Mentality and the inspiration drawn from Kobe Bryant.
