There’s no doubt that a bucket list trip to the Masters at Augusta National — which will kick off this year on April 10 — is priceless.
Part of the experience? Chowing down on cheap sandwiches. While heartier options such as chicken salad, the Masters Club, ham & cheese and BBQ will set you back a whole $3 dollars, the humble pimento cheese sammie remains steady at $1.50 — just as it has since 2002.
The information on the pimento cheese specialty — a Southern delicacy for the Georgia event — was confirmed sports and food reporter Darren Rovell on X (formerly Twitter).
JUST IN: For the 23rd consecutive year, the Pimento Cheese sandwich at the Masters will cost $1.50.
The last price change was in 2002 when it went from $1.25 to $1.50.

But the fun started in the comments section, where Masters fans weighed in with theories about the unchanged price tag.
“Supply and demand,” speculated one. “Very little demand usually means low prices. Who wants a pimento cheese Sammy?”
“Well the tickets have gotten just a little bit more expensive,” commented another. “But nice about the sandwich.” Agreed a third, “Factoring inflation: They just charge more for admission.”

“Could this be a case of Shrinkflation?” asked one. “Are they still putting the same amount of pimento cheese on each sandwich?…We need to check all the variables before we declare victory.”
According to Rovell’s followers who have been to the Masters, the sandwiches aren’t even worth the buck fifty.
“I’ve pretty much eaten that entire menu four times over and about the only thing I tell people not to buy is that stupid cheese sandwich,” wrote one. “It’s not that good.”
Rovell responded, “Shocker — almost nothing is worth eating.”
Ouch. Guess golf fans will have to just focus on the golf: Scottie Scheffler will be playing to defend his title (he’s won twice in the last three years), but hot on his heels are 2023 winner Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, and Swede Ludvig Aberg.
