The New York Knicks just had one of their best seasons in franchise history in 2024, winning 51 games in the regular season, and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, but some feel as though the Knicks can reach even greater heights next season.
Speaking on the Post Moves podcast — featuring WNBA royalty Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston — former NBA All-Star Blake Griffin took the time to lay out his prediction for the 2026 NBA Finals.
His prediction: New York Knicks vs Denver Nuggets.
“I think Denver got better this summer,” Griffin said. “Denver took Oklahoma City to seven games. I think Denver gets to the Finals in the West. And I mean, I think it’s New York or Cleveland in the East. I’ll take New York. Maybe they learn from some mistakes, they make a few tweaks.”
The Knicks are set up nicely to reach the NBA Finals
The Knicks have made several additions to their roster, and have secured Mikal Bridges on a long-term deal, giving the team a solid foundation to work with for the next few years as they enter a championship window.
With many teams in the East facing an uphill battle, the Knicks won’t face too many obstacles in their quest to reach the NBA Finals. The Boston Celtics, and Indiana Pacers have both lost their best player to a torn achilles for next season, and the Milwaukee Bucks’ roster is a shell of its former self, giving the Knicks a very nice opportunity to take the Eastern Conference crown.
