With the 2025-26 campaign approaching, teams are preparing for training camp and rounding out their rosters as free agency winds down.
The Dallas Mavericks still have one two-way spot remaining, though they won’t be reuniting with a 7-foot center who spent part of last season with the team. Kylor Kelley — a 28-year-old center who played collegiately at Oregon State — signed a two-way contract with Dallas last January but was ultimately waived in March.
Now, he’ll get another opportunity to make an NBA roster ahead of the regular season after signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com.
Kylor Kelley inks new contract with Los Angeles
Kelley will join the Lakers on a non-guaranteed training camp deal after spending time with the New Orleans Pelicans and Mavericks last season. Entering his second year in the NBA, the big man is expected to compete for a two-way contract with the Lakers.

He spent a significant portion of the 2024-25 campaign with the Lakers’ G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, averaging 11.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.5 assists across 26.7 minutes per game in 32 outings.
Kelley also appeared in 11 regular-season games between Dallas and New Orleans, averaging 3.1 points and 3.5 rebounds across 11.5 minutes per game. In his lone start for the Mavericks, the Oregon State product posted 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one block across 34 minutes.
Kelley will have the opportunity to showcase his talent in training camp, and the Lakers will retain his G League rights if he does not earn a two-way or standard deal.
