ESPN analyst reveals he received death threat for controversial Giannis Antetokounmpo take

The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the top teams in the league over the past few years, and they’ve been the topic of some interesting conversations.

While the Bucks have struggled to find postseason success in recent years, getting bounced in the first round three straight times, there was once a time when they were at the top of the NBA world. In 2021, the Bucks had one of the most interesting championship runs in recent memory.

Knocking off the star-driven Brooklyn Nets in the second round, Giannis Antetokounmpo and company eventually came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals to win their first championship since 1971. While Antetokounmpo’s performance was one of the most incredible in recent history, it led to some wild takes.

One of the wildest was when ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins called Antetokounmpo the Robin of the Bucks to Khris Middleton’s Batman. While that take certainly drew criticism and the typical clowning of Perkins on social media, not everyone saw the fun in it.

In a recent clip from the Road Trippin’ podcast, Perkins revealed that he received death threats from someone following his takes. Perkins explained that the person was sending threats to him and his wife while also receiving threats about his children.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, Perkins naturally told ESPN. As the former champion explained, the person sending the threats was “locked up” not long after.

While Perkins has certainly been the topic of conversation many times in his media career, it’s important to remember that these takes are just about basketball, but they can also lead to some serious situations when the wrong people get involved.
