ESPN analyst makes shocking prediction for Browns’ Shedeur Sanders

It made plenty of sense for the Cleveland Browns to take a chance on Shedeur Sanders with pick No. 144.

Some could say that the Browns should’ve selected him earlier in the draft or made other decisions, like taking a wide receiver instead of Dillon Gabriel in the third round, but things happen, and the Browns can’t think too much of it.

The hope is for Sanders to become a competent quarterback in the NFL. Whether that’s in a backup or starting role remains to be seen, but there’s reason to believe that if things go as well as they can, he could be this organization’s QB1 over the next decade.

Domonique Foxworth of ESPN believes that will be the case, and expects it to happen much sooner than some others predicted. Foxworth believes that Sanders will be the starter for the Browns entering the campaign, adding that they’ll likely want to go with a younger option.

“Shedeur Sanders will be the starting quarterback for the Browns entering the season,” Foxworth said, per On3. “I think they want to know what they have in either Shedeur or Gabriel before the season is over because there’s a chance they’ll be at the top of a good quarterback draft again next year. I think they’ll move quickly to get those guys on the field to see what kind of players they will be.”

Sanders will have to impress in training camp to win the starting job. Nothing has been guaranteed to him or Deion Sanders, so if he wins the job, it’d be deservingly so.
