Enzo Maresca’s relatable reaction to Marc Guiu’s super-casual solo goal for Chelsea

Chelsea are very much a team to watch right now, whether domestically or abroad.

And even when travelling as far as Kazakhstan for an uncharacteristically-early kick-off in the UEFA Conference League away to Astana in the freezing cold, the highlight reel moments are coming in.

Marc Guiu, the 18-year-old Spaniard given a start for the game as part of Enzo Maresca’s squad rotations, opened the scoring in flippant style with less than 14 minutes on the clock.

Cutting in from the right, his body language sold the defence a dummy as he casually slotted the finish inside the near post himself rather than feed a team-mate with a square pass.

The sheer style and swagger on display had even head coach Maresca reacting like the rest of us.

Far be it from us to assume, but there’s perhaps a little chance that Maresca was urging his forward to play the usual assist pass in that situation, before realising that he didn’t need to.

Either way, he was visibly impressed by the end of it!

Five minutes later, Guiu scored again to make it 2-0 in the first half — though it remains to be seen whether he keeps his second, or if it’s re-credited as an own goal. Get all the details on the game here.
