Have money, will spend seems to be Chelsea’s motto in the ongoing transfer market.
After signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, the Blues are now reportedly on the verge of signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and Joao Pedro from Brighton and Hove Albion, respectively.
Howvever, more incomings are expected, and Enzo Maresca has already earmarked the two positions he wants strengthen next after Gittens and Pedro are added to the squad.
Journalist Simon Philips has claimed the manager is keen to add a new goalkeeper and centre-back to his ranks before the start of the 2025/26 campaign in August.
“Chelsea still trying for Mohammed Kudus, and Maresca’s also wants a new goalkeeper and a center back. Antonio Silva was scouted again last night and has been on their shortlist for some time. Chelsea rejected a chance to go for Jhon Duran this week too.”
Chelsea’s interest in signing a keeper has been well established as they have spent a large part of this window trying to negotiate a deal for AC Milan’s No.1 Mike Maignan.

However, a move for the Frenchman now looks unlikely as the Blues have failed to agree on a fee for the shot-stopper.
In that scenario, the Blues are likely to turn their attention to other options, and it remains to be seen who walks through the door at Stamford Bridge to don the gloves next season.
Chelsea are also in need of an experienced centre-back who can lead the defensive line next season. This need has been intensified since Benoit Badiashile was spotted on crutches after the Club World Cup game against Benfica, leaving Maresca’s team light in defence.
