With just a little more than two weeks to go before the summer transfer window ends, where Nicolas Jackson will be playing his football next season is still anybody’s guess.
The Senegal international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the recent arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and has been heavily linked with a summer exit.
However, Chelsea have already decided that they will reinstate Jackson into their first team if he fails to find a new club before the end of the transfer window.
From a Chelsea perspective, the club has already made it clear that they will not be dipping into the transfer market to replace Jackson if he leaves.
The question that then needs to be asked is whether the Blues have enough depth in their squad to cover for their striker if he leaves the club over the next two weeks.
If Enzo Maresca is to be believed, he does feel that Chelsea have enough depth in their squad to cope with Jackson’s potential absence.

Enzo Maresca names five Chelsea players who can replace Jackson if he leaves
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Blues feel they are in a strong position with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap competing for the starting striker role.
Additionally, Maresca also believes that Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer and Estevao Willian can cover as false nines if necessary.
It is hard to argue with Maresca’s reasons for not wanting to sign a striker if Jackson does leave. Going into the season, Chelsea are stacked in attack and don’t need further reinforcements going forward.
The team is currently blessed with attackers who can play anywhere across the front line and that should hold them in good stead as the season progresses.
