Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has issued an update on the fitness of the club’s talisman, Cole Palmer, after the game against Bayern Munich.
Palmer was one of Chelsea’s best players on the night and scored the Blues’ only goal of the game to give them a glimmer of hope on Wednesday.
The English international even had a second goal ruled out for a narrow offside later in the game.
However, on a worrying note for Chelsea fans, Palmer was seen nursing his groin towards the end of the game.
The attacking midfielder is only just making his return from a groin injury, and Chelsea fans would be fearing a relapse.
Soon after the game, Maresca issued an update on Palmer’s injury while talking to the media.

Though there were worries when the attacker was holding his groin at the end of the game, Maresca stated that he was told by the player that there was nothing to worry about.
He said to Football London, “Cole, I think he’s okay. I asked him after the game, and he said that he’s okay.”
The Blues have a huge task ahead of them at the weekend when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford, and the boss will be really hoping that Palmer is fit and ready to go for the game.
Chelsea have not won a Premier League game at Old Trafford since 2013 and will need Palmer at his best if they are to right that wrong.
