San Diego will be the place to be when Emanuel Navarrete defends the WBO super featherweight title on May 10 against Charly Suarez. The fight airs on Fubo and ESPN+ in the U.S.
Holding the WBO super featherweight title since 2023, Navarrete (39-2-1) attempted but failed to win lightweight gold against Denys Berinchyk. For now, the multi-division champion will put that goal in his back pocket, as he must defend his super featherweight title against a mandatory challenger.
Proving a point after beating Oscar Valdez twice, “Vaquero” is ready to continue his dominant ways in California as he looks forward to future unification fights and bouts in different weight classes.
“My performance against Oscar Valdez was my way of showing that I’m now at 100%. There’s no doubt about that now. So, all we have to do is prepare well to achieve my goals,” Navarrete said.
Suarez (18-0) competes in his first world title fight. The three-time gold and 2014 Asian Games silver medalist has won 10 fights via knockout and looks to cause a massive upset in another chapter in the Mexico vs. Philippines boxing rivalry.
Also on the card, Raymond Muratalla is ready to make a name for himself when he challenges former title contender Zaur Abdullaev.
Meanwhile, fighters like Andres Cortes, Giovani Santillan, and Alan Garcia look to impress.
The Sporting News will provide results from the entire Emanuel Navarrete vs. Charly Suarez fight card.
