Eddie Hearn drops $100 million defamation lawsuit against Jake Paul

Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul have reached a settlement which has resulted in the British promoter dropping his $100 million defamation lawsuit against the YouTuber.

The New York court, where the Hearn filed the suit over two years ago, was made aware of their new agreement on March 28, 2025.

Their attorneys filed for a dismissal in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York, where Hearn’s lawyers first filed it in September 2022.

Hearn initially filed the lawsuit after ‘The Problem Child’ alleged during an interview on YouTube with IFL TV that Hearn had paid boxing judge Glenn Feldman to favourably score Matchroom fighters from ringside.

Paul was indirectly referring to Katie Taylor’s split-decision victory against his fighter, Amanda Serrano, in April 2022 at Madison Square Garden.

Feldman’s scorecard of 97-93 heavily favoured the Irish superstar, Taylor, but wasn’t truly reflective of the closely-fought contest.

Taylor defeated Serrano again in their November 2024 rematch, live on Netflix, so now have the trilogy fight all set in the diary.

The super-lightweight rivals will meet on July 11 at Madison Square Garden, live on Netflix once again.

Both Hearn and Paul will be working together to promote the summer showdown, so they have seemingly set their differences aside early to allow for a smooth working relationship.
