Eagles vs. Giants live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Thursday Night Football’ game

The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants will kick off Week 6 with “Thursday Night Football.”

The Eagles (4-1) are coming off their first loss of the season. Philadelphia had edged past the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in tight, one-score games to start the year, but their luck ran out against the Denver Broncos. Running back Saquon Barkley, a key story of the season, has yet to replicate his near-historic 2024 form. He managed just 30 yards in the 21-17 loss to Denver and will be looking for a bounce-back performance against his former team.

The Giants (1-4) made a quarterback change in Week 4, with rookie Jaxson Dart leading them to their first win of the season. New York tried to carry that momentum into Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints, but Dart struggled in his second start, and the Giants fell 26-14, handing the Saints their first victory of the year. This game will mark Dart’s first appearance following a loss, and he’ll aim to respond with a strong performance against a division rival.

END OF GAME — Giants 34, Eagles 17

Fourth Quarter

11:15 p.m. — Skattebo continued his breakout game, picking up 18 yards on the first play of the drive, and 11 on the second. The Eagles are starting to use their timeouts. Skattebo picked up a combined five yards on his next two carries. He got flagged for taunting a player that hit him hard as he went out of bounds. 

The rookie running back then ran for 10 yards. He got taken out for a few plays sitting at 98 rushing yards on the day. On the other side of the two-minute warning, the Giants just kneeled the ball out so Skattebo finishes with 98 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a huge divisional win. 

10:59 p.m. — The Eagles’ drive starts off as a microcosm of the game, AJ Dillon muffs the kickoff, and it goes out of bounds. Philly takes over on their five-yard line. Hurts hit Brown for seven yards, but then missed Goedert, and Barkley lost a yard on a reception. Hurts hits Smith for a nine-yard gain for a new set of downs. 

Hurts then hit Dillon for seven yards and Goedert for 36. He then hit Dillon for 11 yards, but he fumbled the ball and the Giants recovered. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 34, Eagles 17

10:51 p.m. — Dart picked up three yards on first down. After a false start penalty, Dart picked up four. On third down, Dart threw to the endzone, and a Philly defender interfered with the Giants receiver to put the ball on the goal line. 

Skattebo punches in his third touchdown of the game. 

10:46 p.m. — Hurts starts the next drive with a 16-yard pass to Smith. The Giants were then flagged for defensive pass interference which went for 25 yards. Hurts then hit Goedert for a 10-yard gain. After another incompletion, Hurts threw an interception that was returned 68 yards. 

10:38 p.m. — Dart was checked for a concussion and was cleared. He returned to the game. Skattebo picked up two yards before an incompletion. Another incompletion and the Giants will punt the ball away. 

10:35 p.m. — On the Eagles’ ensuing drive, Barkley ran for no gain and then lost two on his second carry. Hurts checked down to Barkley who picked up 10, bringing up third and short as the fourth quarter begins. 

Third Quarter

10:30 p.m. — Dart hit Hyatt for a six-yard gain and then picked up two yards on a scramble. On third down, the rookie QB found Robinson for a gain of 15. 

The Giants keep facing third and long, and Dart keeps coming through. He hit Theo Johnson for a gain of 22 on third-and-8 for a fresh set of downs. 

Dart then took a big hit and his helmet collided with a defender’s knee. He stayed down on the field, but eventually ran off and into the medical tent. 

Russell Wilson came in, but wasn’t able to extend the drive and the Giants had to punt. 

10:16 p.m. — Hurts starts the drive, finding Goedert for 14 yards. The Giants blitzed up the middle, and Hurts had to scramble, picking up three. New York continues bringing the pressure and sacked Hurts for a loss of nine. The Eagles are forced to punt. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 27, Eagles 17

10:10 p.m. — Dart found Humphrey for a six-yard gain. After Tyrone Treacy picked up three yards, the Eagles were whistled for a face mask on the next play to get the Giants near the redzone. Philly was then hit with another defensive penalty. Dart picked up seven yards on first down. He then dove into contact to pick up four yards for a first down. Skattebo then punched in his second touchdown of the night. 

9:56 p.m. — Barkley picked up six yards on first down, but then lost two on second down. Hurts tried to air the ball out, but he overthrew a wide-open Smith down the field. Philly responds with a three-and-out of their own. 

9:51 p.m. — The Giants start the second half with a three-and-out. Skattebo picked up eight yards, four on the ground and four through the air before Dart had an incomplete pass to end the drive. 

END OF HALF — Giants 20, Eagles 17

Second Quarter

9:35 p.m. — The Eagles had a bad kick return and got pinned on their goal line. Barkley picked up 18 yards to give them some space. Hurts then hit Brown for back-to-back nine-yard gains. The quarterback then had back-to-back incompletions. Hurts then made a confusing move and scrambled up the middle. The Eagles didn’t have any timeouts, so the first half ended there. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 20, Eagles 17

9:27 p.m. — New York went with back-to-back runs to start their drive, until Dart hit Humphrey for a much-needed nine-yard gain for a first down. Dart ran for nine yards, and then Skattebo ran for six yards on a toss to the outside. Dart then hit Theo Johnson for a five-yard gain and Jalin Hyatt for five himself for the first down.

This brought the two-minute warning. 

Dart scrambled all over the field, but wound up picking up seven yards. Skattebo then went up the middle for six yards. Dart picks up a first down to set up first and goal. Skattebo punched it in from four yards out for the score. 

TOUCHDOWN — Eagles 17, Giants 13

9:00 p.m. — Hurts got sacked on first down, and then Barkley got three on second down before Smith picked up 16 for a fresh set of downs. Hurts then hit Brown for 16 yards, and Jahan Dotson for 17 yards. Goedert continues his hot night, catching his sixth pass, this one for a gain of 10. 

Hurts hit Brown for a gain of nine and then missed Barkley in the endzone. They went for a tush push and didn’t get it. On fourth down, Philly again went for a tush push and converted as Hurts jumped over the top. 

On first and goal, the Eagles went for their third consecutive tush push, and they get to the one-yard line. Philadelphia runs a fourth straight tush push for the score. 

First Quarter

8:52 p.m. — New York’s offense had been firing on all cylinders, but Philadelphia’s defense got a much-needed stop. Dart went 1-2 on the three-and-out, only picking up six yards on a connection to Humphrey. Dart was sacked on the drive, trying to scramble. This brought the end of the first quarter. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 13, Eagles 10

8:48 p.m. — Down 10, the Eagles need to get some consistent offense going. After an incompletion, Jalen Hurts hit AJ Brown for a 30-yard gain.

Hurts followed that up by finding Goedert for a gain of 23. The Eagles got into the redzone thanks to another four-yard gain from Brown, followed by eight yards for DeVonta Smith. The drive ended with Hurts flipping a pass to Goedert for the four-yard touchdown. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 13, Eagles 3

8:40 p.m. — The Giants start the drive on their own 34-yard line after the Eagles punt. Skattebo picked up four yards on first down, and Dart showed off his arm with a 26-yard strike to Wan’Dale Robinson.

Dart then scrambled from the pocket and hit Robinson on the sideline. The wide receiver somehow managed to stay in bounds and dodged Eagles defenders, and ran in for the 35-yard touchdown. New York kicker Jude McAtamney missed the extra point.

8:34 p.m. — Hurts found Dallas Goedert for a five-yard gain. Barkley got the carry on second down and lost three yards. On third down, Hurts was sacked for a loss of eight yards. 

TOUCHDOWN — Giants 7, Eagles 3

8:30 p.m. — Dart and the Giants get their chance to answer. Cam Skattebo picked up three yards on first down. After an incompletion and a penalty, Dart launched a prayer that was caught by Lil’Jordan Humphrey for a gain of 34 yards.

It looked like the drive was going to stall, but on third and long, Dart dodged would-be tacklers and scored from 19 yards out. 

FIELD GOAL — Eagles 3, Giants 0

8:22 p.m. — The game is underway, and the Eagles started with the ball. Saquon Barkley has had a slow start to his season, but he’s off to a hot start in this game, getting back-to-back carries and turning them into 31 yards.

He came off the field and the drive stalled. Jake Elliott was able to kick through a 42-yard field goal. 

Pre-Game

8:07 p.m. — Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will be more familiar with MetLife Stadium than most his teammates, spending the first four years of his career with the Giants. 

7:45 p.m. — The Giants offense will lean on a pair of rookies as Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo get their first shot at the Eagles in a divisional game. 

7:25 p.m. — The Eagles will be wearing white jerseys on the road, with green helmets. 

The Giants will be wearing their classic blue jerseys with blue helmets. 

6:55 p.m. — Here is a full list of inactives for both teams.

6:50 p.m. — Eagles DT Jalen Carter was added to the injury report on Wednesday, and his heel injury will keep him out of action on Thursday night. 

6:45 p.m. — The quarterbacks have arrived. The Eagles and Jalen Hurts will be taking on the Giants and rookie Jaxson Dart.
