It was … definitely a football game.
Overall, the contest was a tough watch, but the Los Angeles Chargers came away with a 22-19 overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert had surgery on his non-throwing hand a week ago. He was then sacked a career-high seven times and took several big hits. Herbert also led the Chargers in rushing with 66 yards on 10 carries. Los Angeles was powered by kicker Cameron Dicker, who connected on five field goals.

While Herbert’s effort was impressive, given his injured left hand, the story of the game was the Eagles’ offense, yet again. To sum it up, quarterback Jalen Hurts became the first player since 1972 to have two turnovers on the same play. Hurts threw an interception, then the defender fumbled the return, which Hurts recovered, but Hurts then fumbled the ball. He had five total turnovers in the game, including four interceptions, including the pick in overtime that led to the loss.
The Chargers are now 9-4 and sitting in second place in the AFC West. The Eagles drop to 8-5. They still lead the NFC East, but the Dallas Cowboys trail them by only two games, and Philadelphia has been unable to create any cushion in the division.

It was too far for Elliott, so the offense stayed on the field. Los Angeles got flagged for a neutral zone infraction which gave Philadelphia an automatic first down.
With the fresh set of downs, Goedert had a gain of three, followed by a gain of 16. Hurts was pressured and forced a throw. It was tipped and picked for his fourth interception of the game, this one ending the game.

6:15 p.m. — Despite this game being between teams from different conferences, the result will still impact the overall playoff race heading into Week 15.
No matter if the Eagles win or lose, they will remain the No. 3 seed in the playoffs and atop the NFC East. A loss, though, will keep the gap between Philadelphia and the Dallas Cowboys at only two games.
If the Chargers win, they will overtake the Buffalo Bills for the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoff picture and will trail the division-leading Denver Broncos by only two games. If the Chargers lose, they will enter a three-way tie at 8-5 with the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. Based on NFL tiebreakers, Los Angeles would fall out of the playoff picture and be the No. 8 seed.
6:00 p.m. — There are several storylines heading into this game for the Chargers’ offense. We are about 45 minutes from learning Justin Herbert’s official game status, and the backfield will already be getting a boost.
Ahead of the game, running backs Omarion Hampton and Hasaan Haskins have been activated from injured reserve. Hampton, Los Angeles’ first round pick in 2025, hasn’t played since Week 5.
