Every athlete loves to win but Jalen Hurts is built different.
The Eagles QB had one chance to take the lead as the clock wound down against the Denver Broncos. He launched a pass from the Denver 35-yard line as time expired hoping one of his talented receivers could come down with it. Not only did he release the ball, he chased it down himself.
Much like a three-point shooter chasing down a rebound, Hurts was hoping he could somehow corral his own miss and score himself.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, nobody, including Hurts, was able to bring the ball down. The Eagles’ QB was asked about the play that went viral and shared an interesting response.
“You never know. I hate to lose. I hate losing,” Hurts said.
In typical Hurts fashion, he doesn’t reveal much other than his desire to improve and find more success. He’s become known over the years for minimalistic answers and dodging hard questions from the media.
Another angle of Jalen Hurts attempting to grab his own rebound on the Eagles Hail Mary:

The time he cracked a smile as he responded, subtly acknowledging the absurdity of the play.
Some athletes can say they will do whatever it takes to win but Hurts proves that on every play including the final one.
