Eagles 2025 mock schedule illustrates difficult path to Super Bowl repeat

If the Philadelphia Eagles are able to get back to the playoffs in 2025 to defend their Super Bowl title, they’ll be uniquely battle tested.

No matter how it shakes out, Philly’s regular season slate will include some brutal stretches this coming year.

For starters, all of the Eagles’ non-NFC East road opponents — the Packers, Vikings, Buccaneers, Bills, Chiefs and Chargers — were all playoff teams last year. It’s the first time a team has drawn zero non-playoff opponents outside of its division on the road since the 2025 New Orleans Saints. That’s not to mention a Super Bowl LIX rematch at Arrowhead Stadium, and another trip to face the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium, which has been a house of horrors for Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni.

Philly’s home schedule hardly offers a reprieve, with more 2024 playoff qualifiers, like the Lions, Broncos and Rams, coming to the Linc, as well as new head coach Ben Johnson and the up-and-coming Chicago Bears.

A social media account devoted to the NFL’s annual schedule release recently posted its full 32-team mock, and Philly’s hypothetical path illustrates what will be an extremely difficult path to a Super Bowl repeat, no matter how the actual matchups are spread out.

Here’s a breakdown of Philly’s proposed 2025 schedule:

Philadelphia Eagles 2025 mock schedule

Weeks 1 through 4

The mock kicks off the NFL season on Thursday, Sept. 4, with the Eagles raising their SBLIX banner at the Linc against the Rams — a rematch of last year’s down-to-the-wire, Divisional Round matchup that was played in a snow storm. Of the eight possible teams that could play Philly in Week 1, Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford and Los Angeles are likely on the short list.

The Eagles will most likely be on the road in Week 2, and in this simulation they head to L.A. to face Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers. They then return home in Week 3 for a marquee showdown against Detroit, before turning around on a short week for a second Thursday night game in four weeks, this time against Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Opening with Rams, Chargers, Lions and Vikings would be no picnic. Returning from the West Coast to play two games in five days against NFC North powers Detroit and Minnesota? That would make it even worse, but rough stretches like this will be unavoidable for the Eagles this year.

Weeks 5 through 9

The mock sends Philly to Las Vegas to play Pete Carroll’s Raiders off a mini bye in Week 5, followed by a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, only this time on the road. This is the first true break in the proposed schedule, as Philly gets a bye in Week 7, giving it two weeks to prepare for a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs in Kansas City in Week 8. The Eagles then return home to the Linc for a rivalry game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9.

Weeks 10 through 13

The Super Bowl champs get their first Monday Night Football game in Week 10, at home against the Commanders. The Eagles then head to Dallas to play the Cowboys for the second time in three weeks in Week 11, before what would be another tough stretch: A trip to Lambeau Field to play the Packers in Week 12, followed by a third Thursday night game of the season — this time on Thanksgiving, home against the Denver Broncos.

Weeks 14 through 18

Similar to 2024, the schedule lightens for the Eagles towards the end of the regular season in this mock. Philly gets a second Monday Night Game, this time at Buffalo for another battle with Josh Allen and the Bills, followed by a trip to the always tough Raymond James Stadium to play the Buccaneers. The slate closes with the Eagles hosting both the Giants and Bears in Weeks 16 and 17, before wrapping up in Week 18 with a second game against the Giants, this time in East Rutherford.

All told, the schedule includes six prime-time games (including a SNF spot against Dallas). The real schedule will be released on Wednesday night, but no matter how it shakes out, the reigning SB champs will be facing some of the NFL’s best week in and week out.
