When he hasn’t been busy escalating his ongoing feud with Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles, speedy Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been gearing up for a fourth season in South Beach. As Hill recovers from offseason wrist surgery, he’s remained engaged with a franchise which he expressed some hard feelings toward near the end of the 2024 season. But both on the field and off the field, Hill continues to grind.
Part of that grind apparently includes putting on his recruiter cap, because over the weekend, Hill stated point blank that he was going to be making a pitch for Jalen Ramsey, whose trade out of Miami is likely to come before the start of training camp, to reverse course and consider putting on a Dolphins uniform once again.
“I’m going to hang out with Ramsey next week,” Hill said during an interview at Fanatics Fest on Saturday (h/tJake Mendel of Sports Illustrated). “I’m getting Ramsey back in a Dolphins jersey… I don’t care what they say.”
Tyreek Hill even quote tweeted a video of this moment with the very simple caption, “Ima get @jalenramsey back…”
Hill, who has been shadowed by many all of the league’s most talented defensive backs since bursting onto the scene during a breakout campaign in the 2017 season, has had nothing but praise for his teammate, even in the midst of Ramsey’s request for the Dolphins to trade him.
“He’s a dog,” Hill said of Ramsey. “He’s one of the best corners in the league, man. Great leader. Great teammate too, though. So, that’s what he doesn’t get a lot of credit for, man.
We need him on the Dolphins.”
Tyreek Hill is right. The Dolphins do need Jalen Ramsey. Miami’s secondary is young, unproven, and will be in desperate need of a jolt of veteran leadership and high-end skill if Ramsey is eventually, inevitably, shipped out of town.
