Jalen Ramsey has been one of the biggest names to watch all offseason, as he has been on the trade block since it began. However, for several reasons, the Dolphins have decided not to trade him just yet. A major reason for Miami’s patience is that completing the deal after June 1 would actually be more cost-effective.
“ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports ‘there’s more interest in Jalen Ramsey than people realize.’ Trade could be announced in June, potentially. Schefter notes if trade happens before, it wouldn’t be processed until after June 1 for cap reasons,” Barry Jackson posted.
After the first day of June, everything will be on the table in the Ramsey sweepstakes. While Ramsey’s defensive coordinator mentioned that relationships might be a factor in his pending departure, other teams don’t seem concerned about that.
Ramsey’s name has been involved in every possible trade rumor and speculation, but the Cowboys have been gaining momentum recently. In fact, the Cowboys may have a player of interest to the Dolphins who could serve as a strong replacement for Ramsey.
“The Cowboys do have a sexy name to potentially dangle if they’re not willing to pay DaRon Bland a long-term contract. He’s in the final year of his contract after posting a whopping 14 interceptions in his first two years in the NFL,” Kyle Crabbs wrote.
Though it was just speculation, news has surfaced that Ramsey has bought a house in the Dallas area.

“ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported recently that the Cowboys are one of several teams the Dolphins are in discussions with on a Ramsey trade, and a financial decision from Ramsey has only added fuel to the fire of his Cowboys link. Ramsey allegedly purchased a home in the Dallas area from Fort Worth,” Jesse Cinquini wrote.
Nothing is confirmed, but this could be a very telling sign, especially with the second day of June approaching on Monday. Ramsey would certainly bolster the Cowboys’ secondary and give them one of the best veteran cornerback duos in the league alongside Trevon Diggs.
