There’s a baby Shohei Ohtani in the world.
The Dodgers superstar and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, are officially first-time parents.
Ohtani posted on Instagram on Saturday to announce the birth of his child.
She’s a girl.
“I am so grateful to my loving wife who gave birth to our healthy beautiful daughter,” Ohtani wrote on Instagram. “To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous yet super anxious parents.”
Ohtani has missed the Dodgers’ Friday and Saturday games while on the paternity list.
“I would also like to thank the Dodgers organization, my teammates and the fans for their constant support and kind words of encouragement,” Ohtani wrote.

Ohtani’s daughter was born in the Los Angeles area. He stayed home from the Dodgers’ road trip to be there with Mamiko.
“I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the medical professionals and everyone who dedicated their support to us up until this wonderful day,” Ohtani concluded his message.
Ohtani is one of the world’s best athletes, a two-way baseball legend. His wife, Mamiko Tanaka, is a former professional basketball player.
This little girl will surely be hitting home runs or getting buckets in no time. She also has the potential to be very, very tall and very, very fast.
The sky is surely the limit for Shohei’s little child.
Ohtani will be back with the Dodgers soon enough, and now he’ll have dad strength.
No one would bet against Ohtani hitting a leadoff homer in his first game back after welcoming to the world his new child.
