The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the World Series for the second consecutive year. The Dodgers took care of the New York Yankees in five games in 2024, and now they’ll be challenged by the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays are looking for their first World Series championship since 1993, and the Dodgers are looking to win back-to-back World Series titles.
Game 1 will get underway on Friday night in Toronto, and on Friday afternoon the Dodgers revealed their starting lineup for Game 1 of the 2025 World Series.
Dodgers reveal Game 1 starting lineup
The Dodgers lineup doesn’t look much different from the lineup that’s carried them this far in the playoffs. Here’s Los Angeles’ starting lineup for Game 1.
Dodgers starting lineup:
- Shohei Ohtani DH
- Mookie Betts SS
- Freddie Freeman 1B
- Will Smith C
- Teoscar Hernández RF
- Max Muncy 3B
- Kike Hernández LF
- Tommy Edman 2B
- Andy Pages CF
The Dodgers lineup has seen the same faces for the most part, when everyone’s been healthy, throughout the postseason.

Los Angeles has switched the order up a little bit depending on whether the opponents starting pitcher is left-handed or right-handed. However, this has been the Dodgers main lineup against a right-handed starter.
Teoscar Hernández has moved around in the middle of the order with Muncy, and in Game 1, Hernández will hit in the No. 5 spot in front of Muncy.
The Dodgers will face Blue Jays’ starter Trey Yesavage, who started his postseason with a phenomenal 5.1 hitless innings against the Yankees with 11 strikeouts.

Since then, the Blue Jays’ rookie has given up seven runs across 9.2 innings, but has kept his strikeouts there with 11.
Despite Game 1 being in Toronto, the Dodgers figure to have the advantage on the mound with veteran starter Blake Snell starting, who has a 0.52 ERA in 21 innings this postseason.
Game 1 gets underway on Friday night at 8 p.m. at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
