The Los Angeles Dodgers currently lead the National League West by 4 1/2 games and have the best record in the Senior Circuit at 49-31.
They won another World Series title last October and are looking to defend that title this season. They had a busy offseason to ensure they had another shot.
However, they have been hit hard by injuries to their starting rotation. This was an issue that they overcame last year to win their title.
Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report listed the Dodgers as a possible suitor for former fan-favorite Walker Buehler.
“The Dodgers have gotten a total of 1.4 rWAR from their starting pitchers, seven of whom are currently on the injured list. And of those seven, only Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow may be able to return before the deadline,” Rymer wrote.

Buehler is not having a good season with the Boston Red Sox. The 30-year-old veteran is 5-5 with a 6.29 ERA in 13 starts.
However, the right-hander does have a good postseason track record. He pitched a gem against the New York Yankees in Game 3 of last year’s World Series and even closed out Game 5 to clinch the series for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers at least have familiarity with Buehler, and he would be returning to a team that has a realistic shot at winning another World Series title.
Due to all the injuries the Dodgers are dealing with, a reunion with Buehler at the trade deadline makes sense.
The 30-year-old was a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Dodgers.
