
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the team most closely linked to Jackie Robinson Day, because when he wore that blue No. 42 in his trailblazing MLB career, it was for the Dodgers.
But a mid-career move to Hollywood for Robinson and the Dodgers doesn’t wipe out where his initial color barrier-breaking actions happened: in Brooklyn.
And on April 15, 2025, the 78th anniversary of Robinson’s MLB debut, the Dodgers made an awesome call.
For their game against the Rockies, the Dodgers are wearing script ‘B’ hats that resemble those once worn by the Brooklyn Dodgers.

That’s just such a cool decision by the Dodgers. It calls back to their storied history as one of three great New York franchises along with the Yankees and Giants.
Now, of course, the Dodgers and Giants play in California and New York added the Mets.
But in the days when baseball was king, that trio was the stuff of legend. That’s when Robinson came to town.
