The Los Angeles Dodgers were very busy this past offseason after winning their eighth World Series title.
They made several free agent signings to bolster their roster, and entering 2025, they look like the team to beat once again.
Outfielder Michael Conforto was one of the many players they signed in free agency this past winter. Los Angeles gave him a one-year, $17 million contract.
Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report lists Conforto as somebody who could have a bounce back season in 2025.
“He may not have had the results to show for it, but he legitimately crushed the ball last season. At 90.2 mph, his exit velocity was his best since 2016. And at 46.0 percent, his hard-hit rate was his best since 2015,” Rymer wrote.
Conforto hit just .237 during the regular season and had a .759 OPS. However, he did also hit 20 home runs, and Oracle Park isn’t exactly a hitter’s paradise.
Playing in Los Angeles could help him potentially rediscover his power stroke and get back on the right track. Playing for a contending team should help too.
The 31-year-old outfielder has played most of his career with the New York Mets, but he spent the past two seasons with the San Francisco Giants. He may not have a clear role with the Dodgers, but he is somebody that could bounce back.
Los Angeles saw something in Teoscar Hernandez, so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see Conforto break out again after a down year.
It will be interesting to see what the veteran outfielder can do this year.
