Did Danica Patrick ever win a race? Revisiting best career finishes in NASCAR, IndyCar and more

There are not many former NASCAR drivers quite as famous as Danica Patrick.

The long-time IndyCar and stock-car racer made history when she became the first woman to win an IndyCar race, which was followed by her extensive NASCAR career. While Patrick retired from racing in 2018, she has still stayed close to racing through media responsibilities over the past seven years.

However, Patrick’s fame didn’t necessarily lead to success on the track. While Patrick was a fierce competitor during her racing career, she seemingly faced stiffer competition in her NASCAR races than she did during IndyCar and couldn’t match her former success.

Here’s a breakdown of the success that Patrick had in her racing career.

Did Danica Patrick ever win a race?

Throughout her career in both IndyCar and NASCAR, Patrick had just one win in over 100 races. Patrick won the Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Montegi, becoming the first woman to ever win an IndyCar race.

Overall, Patrick earned seven top-three finishes in IndyCar between 2007 and 2010. Besides her win, she had three second-place finishes — once at The Raceway at Belle Isle Park in 2007, again at Texas Motor Speedway in 2010, and last at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2010. Finally, she had three third-place finishes, two coming in 2007 and one more in 2009.

That finishes, along with her dozens of top-10 finishes in IndyCar between 2005 and 2011, allowed Patrick to make the jump to stock-car racing and NASCAR from 2012-18.

Did Danica Patrick win any NASCAR races?

Despite participating for six years in stock-car racing, Patrick never won a NASCAR race. Her highest finish in stock-car racing was fourth place, which she collected in March of 2011 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as part of the Xfinity Series circuit, but it was her only top-five finish in NASCAR.

Patrick’s second-best finish was a sixth-place finish, which came during the NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway in August of 2014. In total, Patrick had 14 top-10 finishes, which were spread evenly between the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Cup Series.

Patrick’s career began to decline after 2015, as she had just one top-10 finish in her last two-plus years in NASCAR. Her final professional race was actually a return to IndyCar, in which she finished 30th in 2018.
