David Benavidez vs. David Morrell undercard: Complete list of fights before main event in 2025 boxing match

Two giants face off when David Benavidez and David Morrell clash on February 1.

The fight in Las Vegas airs on Amazon Prime. Benavidez defends the interim WBC light heavyweight title, while Morrell defends the WBA (Regular) belt.

Benavidez (29-0) is a two-time WBC super middleweight champion. The 28-year-old moved to light heavyweight after it was revealed he wouldn’t get a fight against Canelo Alvarez. He beat Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the interim WBC belt.

Morrell (11-0) is a former WBA (Regular) super middleweight champion. He also moved in weight and beat Radivoje Kalajdzic in August to win the WBA (Regular) light heavyweight title.

The winner will face either Dmitry Bivol or Artur Beterbiev for undisputed gold. While an opportunity like that is at stake, bragging rights are also on the line. There is animosity between the two, and with plenty of tension, Benavidez and Morrell are ready for sparks to fly in the ring.

“I’m just excited to get in there and get my hands on David Morrell,” Benavidez told TMZ. “

He’s been talking a lot. So now all the talk is done. We got [a few days] left. And I’m really excited to go in there and break his face!”

“He’s been running his mouth, calling me out and disrespecting my name,” said Morrell.

“That’s fine with me, because words won’t save him when we’re face-to-face in the ring. All this trash talk just fuels me. He’s going to regret every word when I make him eat his pride punch-by-punch.”

A rematch for gold is on the David Benavidez vs. David Morrell undercard while former champions and a top prospect look to impress.
